Tom Thumb groundbreaking ceremony
Recently, City of Sanger staff joined developer Malouf, Tom Thumb officials, and community members for the groundbreaking of the highly anticipated Tom Thumb grocery store. It will be located on FM 455 west (Chapman Drive) behind Sanger Bank and First United Bank next to the I-35 service road. The store is expecting a Fall 2025 opening and will anchor the commercial side of the project.
During the event, the developers and Tom Thumb leadership expressed their gratitude to the City Council, City Manager John Noblitt, and Director of Economic Development Shani Bradshaw for their hard work and dedication in making this process seamless.
In an amazing show of community support, Tom Thumb also presented a $10,000 check to the Sanger Education Foundation, Inc. to aid their efforts in empowering local students.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Tom Thumb to Sanger and look forward to the positive impact this addition will bring to our community.” said Sanger Mayor Thomas Muir.
Tom Thumb is the first piece of the 131.82 acres project. The Greystar and Malouf Interests development will consist of 300 single family lots/homes for sale, 305 apartment units, around 24 townhome units. The commercial will front along North Stemmons and Chapman Drive. The multi-family development will have a swimming pool, patio area, and other amenities
