The City of Sanger was proud to host the recent Texas Municipal League (TML) Region 8 Quarterly Meeting, which brought together city officials and community leaders from across the North Central Texas area.
TML Region 8 encompasses ten counties: Denton, Cooke, Tarrant, Wise, Parker, Palo Pinto, Hood, Erath, Johnson, and a portion of Somervell. The quarterly meeting provides a forum for municipal officials to network, collaborate, and discuss legislative and regional matters affecting local governance.
With a welcome message from Sanger Mayor Thomas Muir, the meeting was officially called to order with opening remarks from Eddie Rodriquez, TML Region 8 President and Councilmember for the City of Granbury.
The meeting was highlighted by keynote speaker Bennett Sandlin, Executive Director of the Texas Municipal League. Sandlin delivered an informative legislative update from the 89th Legislature Regular Session, offering valuable insights into recent and upcoming legislation impacting Texas cities.
The City of Sanger extended its gratitude to sponsors Republic Services and Government Capital Securities for their generous support, which helped make the event a success. Also, a special thank you to Uptown Rail Brewery for providing the venue for the event.
Meetings like this one play a vital role in strengthening regional partnerships and ensuring local voices are heard at the state level. The TML Region 8 Quarterly Meeting continues to be a platform for meaningful dialogue and effective municipal leadership.
