THE TRIBE IS MOVING ON! 🟣🟡

For the first time since 2017, the Sanger Indians are headed to the 3rd Round of the UIL Baseball Playoffs after a gritty 3-1 winner take all victory over Alvarado at Brewer High School.

In a game where every pitch mattered, the Indians delivered in the biggest moments.

Levi Hendricks sparked the offense with a triple and scored the opening run of the game. Logan Swofford delivered a clutch RBI sacrifice fly in the top of the 6th before Luke Hendricks followed with an RBI single to extend the lead.

Twister Wilson came around to score what proved to be the winning run as Sanger took control late.

On the mound, Riley Tarwater battled through 3.2 strong innings before Michael McKeown took over and completely shut the door. McKeown was dominant in relief, throwing 3.1 scoreless innings with 4 strikeouts, including back-to-back 3 up, 3 down innings in the 6th and 7th to seal the win.

The Indians also played flawless defense behind their pitching staff, finishing the game error-free in one of the biggest wins for the program in nearly a decade.
