Sanger High School won the Class 4A State Championship on Friday, November 6 at Old Settler's Park in Round Rock with a combined finishing score of 105 points, to beat out runner-up Perryton with 114 points. Canyon was third with 130 points. David Martinez was Sanger's top finisher at 13th place, with a time of 16:16.6.

Jacob Erickson, of Perryton won individual gold with a time of 15:18.8, but Perryton didn't have the depth of the Indians squad, to pull off the team title.

The Indians dedicated their cross-country season to Sam Musgrave and Daniel Martinez, two cross-country athletes who died following a severe vehicle crash in Sanger on May 28, 2026. Musgrave was a 2025 graduate and Daniel was a junior SHS cross country runner, and twin brother to David Martinez.
