Sanger to celebrate 73rd homecoming, parade route changed

Sanger ISD is thrilled to announce this year’s Disney-themed homecoming celebration- Let's get tangled in homecoming! Get ready for a weekend of fun, spirit, and school pride. Here’s what’s happening: Pep Rally- Friday, September 27, 10:50am (parents must pre-register to attend); Homecoming Game- Friday, September 27, 7:30pm; Parade- Saturday, September 28, 10:00am; Dance- Saturday, September 28, 7:00-10pm.

The parade set up and line up will take place at Stephen Baker Field on Saturday, September 28 at 9:00am.  Line up will begin at 9:30am and parade beginning at 10:00am.  The parade route will be different this year.  A car and motorcycle show is scheduled for downtown Sanger from 9am-3pm.  It is hosted by the local American Legion Post 268.  There will be vendors on site, as well.  See more on the back page of the Sanger News.  The new route will travel from SBF to Elm Street and turn right on S. 5th Street in downtown. Then, turn right on Bolivar Street (heading west) and turn left on 10th Street back to Linda Tutt High School / Stephen Baker Field.

The class of 1964 will be the grand marshal this year and will lead the parade.  All other floats participants will follow behind on a first come bases.  Horses, bikes, and scooters will be at the end of the parade.  There will be a height limit on floats this year.  Floats cannot be higher than 10 ft. from the ground.  If you have an 18-wheeler, you must remain on the street through the lineup process.  Also, no monster trucks will be allowed. Horses will be required to have bags or a person to scoop for clean up along the route.
