The City of Sanger Police Department last week announced the launch of its annual Blue Santa Program, a heartwarming initiative dedicated to supporting at-risk students within Sanger ISD. In collaboration with the Sanger Education Foundation and Sanger ISD, this program provides essential items, toys, and holiday cheer for Sanger ISD students facing economic hardship.

Blue Santa is about more than just spreading holiday cheer—it's about making a tangible impact. The program will provide essential items such as pillows, blankets, toiletries, and other necessities, as identified by school counselors. Additionally, each student will receive personalized gifts from their wish lists, ensuring they feel valued and supported by their community.

Identifying Children in Need:

Sanger ISD counselors will play a crucial role in identifying children who may benefit from the program. Counselors will compile a list of eligible students, including their essential needs and wish list items. All information will be handled with confidentiality and used solely for the program's purpose.

Community Involvement

Sanger Police Chief Tyson Cheek emphasized the program's importance: "The Blue Santa Program is a reflection of the heart of our community. It's about bringing people together to support our students in need, ensuring they have not only the essentials but also a sense of joy and belonging during the holiday season."

"This program is about more than just giving gifts; it's about letting these students know that their community cares about them," said Donna Green, Director of Marketing and Civic Engagement. "With the support of the Sanger ISD and the Sanger Education Foundation, we can reach those who need it most and make a meaningful impact."

The City of Sanger encourages local businesses, organizations, and residents to get involved by donating essential items, toys, and bicycles, contributing funds or gift cards, or volunteering to assist with distribution efforts. Every contribution helps make a difference in the lives of these students.
