Sanger ISD starts school with 2972 students
As of August 11, 2026, Sanger ISD’s total enrollment reached 2,972 students. This is an increase from the 2,960 students enrolled after the first week of school in August 2025.
While overall enrollment in public schools across the state is declining, Sanger ISD is maintaining a steady number of students. There are thousands of homes being developed within the Sanger city limits and even more within the SISD boundary. Although growth in Sanger is anticipated, it may take a few years before it significantly impacts SISD.
State data indicates that more families are opting for charter schools, homeschooling, or utilizing the state’s first-ever voucher program to send their children to private schools.

*Understanding the Numbers: Linda Tutt High School’s enrollment count of 5 students reflects only those students permanently assigned to the campus on a single state reporting day. In reality, Linda Tutt serves as Sanger ISD’s centralized hub for alternative and specialized education. Throughout the school year, dozens of students across the district utilize its fluid programs—including Choice, DAEP, and other specialized programs—to receive tailored academic and support services while remaining tied to their home campuses.
