Students in Sanger ISD are starting the new school year with some big changes across the district.
The district said it welcomed its largest number of students in district history on Monday, as Denton County continues to experience a population boom. The Sanger area is considered one of many “boom towns” in North Texas.
To keep up with the growth, the district built a brand new, state-of-the-art high school featuring modern classrooms, advanced technology, and upgraded athletic and fine arts facilities. SMS is located at the old high school, just next door.
The district continues to grow with the enrollment for Pre-K through 12th grades over 3,000 students, up from 2,865 on the first day of school last year. The Sanger News will publish an enrollment breakdown of each grade and campus in the coming weeks, once SISD announces them.
