Sanger ISD Earns a “B” Accountability Rating

The Texas Education Agency (TEA) announced the release of 2026 A-F Accountability Ratings for public school systems and campuses across the state last week.   

1,202 districts and 9,105 campuses were rated in 2026. 24% of both districts and campuses increased in rating compared to 2025. 585 campuses across Texas improved from below an A to an A rating in 2026. In total, 85% of campuses that received an A-F rating statewide achieved acceptable academic performance (C or above).

A-F Ratings provide clear, accessible information on school and district performance, serving as an essential tool for parents, educators, policymakers and local communities to make informed decisions that support student success.

Sanger ISD earned another “B” Accountability Rating and is proud of the accomplishment.  Sanger ISD Superintendent Dr. Tommy Hunter released a statement about the high achievement.  “While we are proud of this rating, we know it represents much more than a letter grade. It reflects the hard work, planning, teaching, learning, and support taking place every day across our district. Most importantly, it provides us with valuable information about where our students are succeeding and where we have opportunities to continue growing.

We have much to celebrate in Sanger ISD, and we also recognize that our work is never finished. We remain committed to using accountability results, student data, and the work happening in our classrooms to identify areas for improvement and ensure every student has the opportunity to succeed.

To our teachers and staff, thank you for the dedication you bring to our students each day. To our students, thank you for continuing to work hard and challenge yourselves. And to our families, Board of Trustees, and community, thank you for your continued partnership and support of Sanger ISD.

Sanger High School had the best score (86 out of 100), followed by Butterfied (80 out of 100), Chisholm Trail (80 out of 100), Sanger Middle School (77 out of 100) and Clear Creek (75 out of 100). 

The area districts, comparable to Sanger were Aubrey ISD (C), Krum ISD (C), Pilot Point ISD (C), Ponder ISD (B), Gainesville ISD (D), Valley View ISD (B). Out of those districts, Ponder HS and Valley View HS scored A’s.  Sanger High School is getting near that mark.

The A–F Accountability System was established in 2017 by the 85th Texas Legislature through House Bill (HB) 22 to provide clear and consistent information on how schools are performing in three key areas: Student Achievement, School Progress and Closing the Gaps. Designed to drive continuous improvement, the A-F system helps ensure that all students, regardless of background, have access to a high-quality education that prepares them for success after graduation.
