It’s a great day to be part of Sanger ISD! The district is thrilled to announce that it has earned an impressive “B” rating in the Texas Education Agency’s (TEA) 2022–23 A–F Accountability Ratings.
This exciting achievement is a testament to the hard work, resilience, and dedication of SISD students, educators, staff, and families. The A–F accountability system is a statewide measure of academic performance, student growth, and equity across all public schools and districts in Texas, and Sanger ISD is proud to be recognized for their strong performance across the board.
• Here's how Sanger ISD scored:
• Student Achievement: B... the students are meeting high expectations on STAAR, graduating on time, and demonstrating they are ready for life beyond high school—whether in college, the workforce, or the military.
• School Progress: B... We’re growing! This rating reflects how much the students have improved year over year and how the performance compares to similar districts across the state.

• Closing the Gaps: B... Equity matters. This score highlights the ongoing commitment to ensuring that all student groups—regardless of background—have access to the resources and support they need to succeed. “This B rating is a huge win for our district,” said Dr. Tommy Hunter, Superintendent of Sanger ISD. “It speaks volumes about the strength of our teachers, the drive of our students, and the heart of this community. We’re proud—but we’re not done. We’re continuing to grow, improve, and aim even higher.”
After a two-year delay due to legal challenges, TEA’s release of the 2023 ratings gives families and educators a long-awaited, data-driven view of school performance. While the ratings reflect the 2022–23 school year, they provide valuable insight into district growth and areas for continued improvement. Insight that will strengthen instruction and help close achievement gaps. However, due to ongoing litigation, TEA cannot release 2023–24 scores at this time.
The A–F system, established by the Texas Legislature in 2017, evaluates school performance across three core domains: Student Achievement, School Progress, and Closing the Gaps. These measures are designed to promote transparency, drive improvement, and ensure every student in Texas has access to a high-quality education.
“Sanger ISD is moving forward with momentum, passion, and purpose. Our B rating is just the beginning—we’re committed to celebrating our successes and striving for even greater accomplishments ahead,” said Deputy Superintendent Jennie Flaa.”
