Sanger Education Foundation gives thanks to the community and supporters for a successful fundraiser

Sanger Education Foundation Annual Gala event held on Thursday, March 30, 2024 at Chapel Creek Ranch Venue highlighted the foundation mission of introducing and supporting funding initiatives designed to strengthen the quality of education in Sanger ISD.

The evening was a huge success with over 280 attendees assisting in raising funds to further the foundation’s work in building a strong community of support for our schools. The evening featured Sanger High School Culinary Arts Teacher, Amy Escobedo, speaking on behalf of previous grant recipients on the impact an instructional grant has made on district programs. Mrs. Escobedo spoke regarding her most recent grant award of $20,000 to create and design Old Bus #6 as a Mobile Food Truck complete with an industry standard commercial kitchen resulting in a significant expansion of student participation in the Culinary Arts program. The culinary arts program continues to grow, resulting in the newly created and award winning Sanger High School Barbeque Teams. The evening also featured the debut of the Bob and Mary Jo Stover Scholarship Endowment along with the foundation and Sanger High School Counselor, Erica Chupp, accepting a donation of a full set of bunker gear for the Sanger High School Firefighter Career and Technical Students to help offset student program expenses.

Executive Director Valerie Foster noted "An event this size takes a tremendous amount of work and dedication. We could not have had such a successful event without our amazing and very talented volunteers and supporters. A very special thank you to all our sponsors who helped make this event possible." The evening featured both a live and silent auction along with the return of the dessert frenzy. The evening also featured several new events, including Mystery Bags and a raffle sponsored by Sanger Insurance. The Gala raised over $93,000 and we owe many thanks to everyone who donated merchandise, attended the Gala, purchased items, and those who sponsored the event. Volunteer and Board of Director Marketing/Development Committee Chair Dee Dee Peterson stated, “I am amazed and grateful for the support of the Sanger community and surrounding areas. It was rewarding to see the room filled to maximum capacity and so much fun being had, all while raising funds to help support education in Sanger ISD.”
