Jacob Lewis named Firefigher of the Year

American Legion Post 268 from Sanger, recognized first responders from the Sanger Police and Fire Department on January 17, 2023 as Police Officers and Firefighter of the year for 2022 at the City Council meeting. American Legion Post 268 Commander Jorge Hernandez presented the awards to Sergeant Reece Dunn and Detective Justin Lewis and Firefighter Jacob Lewis.


Jacob Lewis has been a dedicated member to Sanger Fire Department for 4 years. Jacob has shown a lot of leadership this year. He has helped with the training of new paramedics. He was also deployed to the wildland fires in the panhandle to help with those this summer. Jacob has continued to take classes to advance his training to pass on to the people he works with. Jacob has shown great pride in our department with the way he has handled his self on calls and at trainings. He is a great contributor to the Sanger Fire Department having another great year.
