Greenfest on the Greenbelt to be held April 15
Come celebrate 100 Years of Texas State Parks at Greenfest 2023, presented by the Greenbelt Alliance of Denton County! There will be food, fun and games for the entire family.
Greenfest includes a 5k, a 1 mile Fun Run, and family festival centered around health, wellness, and outdoor recreation.
The 5k Trail Run and 1 Mile Fun Run course will take you along the beautiful Greenbelt Trails along the Elm Fork of the Trinity River and across the historic Elm Fork Bridge. Runners & walkers of all ability levels are welcome to participate.
In addition, park rangers and other groups will also be on hand with free games and activities that promote health, wellness, and outdoor recreation for all ages. All proceeds from the 5k and 1 mile Fun Run stay local to support the Greenbelt and Ray Roberts Lake State Park.
This is one of many 100-Year Celebration events happening in Texas State Parks this year. Entry to a park is free on the day it hosts an official 100-Year Celebration Event (applies to day passes only). Guarantee entry by reserving your free day pass up to one month before this special event.
Please stay and enjoy the festivities, visit the vendor booths, and enjoy your time at the Texas State Park. They will have food trucks, live music, bounce houses, and lots of fun family activities. The Blue Bonnets should be in bloom and have a whole field of them. So bring those cameras and smiles with you!
One of the most frequent questions we receive is whether or not walkers are welcome. And the answer is - of course! Regardless of where you are in your fitness journey - or hey, maybe you just need a little catch up time with a pal on the trail, no judgment here! - the Greenfest 5k is open and welcoming to all. So you can breathe a sigh of relief and get your tickets at www.greenfestdenton.com for more information.
Dogs on a leash are welcome to join; strollers are welcome but the course will be very challenging for a stroller.
