Carly Sperry is the new SHS Principal
Mrs. Carly Sperry was named the Principal of Sanger High School on March 1, 2023. She replaces Jay Swafford who resigned, recently.
Mrs. Sperry has been an educator for over nineteen years. Most recently Mrs. Sperry held the position of Assistant Principal of Sanger High School. Prior, she served Sanger Middle School as Assistant Principal for the 2021-2022 school year. Her years leading up to administration were spent serving as the Special Education Department Lead for Pilot Point HS, Braswell HS, and Sanger High School.
During her years of service, Mrs. Sperry has worked alongside campus and district professionals for the betterment of all programs. She has proven success with innovative ideas and implementation. Mrs. Sperry was Sanger High Schools Teacher Of The Year in 2020.
Mrs. Sperry has organized many professional development opportunities for staff and has served on campus and district planning committees for current and future needs. She enjoys working collaboratively with colleagues to maximize learning opportunities for the students and families that she serves.
“I am so honored to be able to serve the community that raised me. I value our students and their families, our teachers, and the community as a whole. My heart bleeds purple and gold and I want nothing more than to continue to be a part of the growth and success that is to come. It Is A Great Day To Be A Sanger Indian!,” said Sperry.
Mrs. Sperry earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Texas Womans University and her Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Lamar University. She and her husband Chad are proud to have their daughter as a Sanger ISD student as she herself is a 3rd Generation graduate of Sanger High School.
“Mrs. Sperry understands how important of a role the school plays in the development of our students and is prepared to lead SHS,” said Sanger ISD Superintendent Dr. Tommy Hunter.
