State Parks and Lake Ray Roberts Boat Ramps open to public, Marina to open gas dock on April 24

PICTURED: Sanger Access Boat Ramp is open.

All state parks and historic sites in Texas were closed through April 20th, in response to the spread of COVID-19.

Gov. Greg Abbott announced the measure a few weeks ago. On Monday, Isle du Boise and Johnson Branch State Parks, along with boat ramps - Pond Creek, Pecan Creek, Buck Creek, Jordan Unit and Sanger Access, are all open.

Lake Ray Roberts Marina announced this week that they have plans to open their gas dock. They sent out emails to boat slip renters on Monday. The release stated: "On April 24, 2020, we will reopen our fuel dock daily from 9 am – 5 pm. While we are still closing our inside store to the public, we will have two walk up windows for sales. One will be for the office staff to take account payments and to sell boat launch passes. The marina's boat ramp is open for a $5 charge. The other window will be for fuel and store purchases. We are not renting any boats or kayaks at this time. Our fishing pier will open as long as social distancing can be maintained. If you need fuel, bait or store merchandise; you will go to the north side window and sign a boater charge ticket or present a credit card. Our employee will turn on the pump for you and you will pump your fuel. We will have spray sanitizer at each pump for your safety. We will assist in fuel dock pump outs provided the boater maintains the 6 ft. minimum distance from our employees. If you need any items from inside the store, our employees will prepare the items for you and place them in a bag. The bag will be placed at the window for you to retrieve. We will still limit employees from going to meet with boaters on the docks based on each specific situation .We hope this is the first step in getting back to normal but we realize this may take several months or even longer to allow people back inside the store. Social distancing with the six ft. rule and avoiding crowds of 10 or more people are still very important rules to follow to prevent a resurgence of the virus. We do not require you to use a face mask."
