February 17, 2018

Sanger (18-15) made the playoffs and will face. no. 4 ranked Dallas Lincoln (22-8) on Tuesday, February 20 at 7:30 p.m. at Lewisville High School.  Lincoln won their district over Dallas Carter (no. 5 in the state), Wilmer-Hutchins (no. 18) and Faith Family Academy, Dallas Pinkston and Dallas Roosevelt.

Argyle 26-6 who’s ranked no. 12 in the state and District 9-4A Champion will face Faith Family Academy, who came in fourth place in District 10-4A.  Krum (27-7), the runner-up in 9-4A and ranked no. 18 in the state faces Wilmer-Hutchins, who came in third place in District 10-4A.  Hutchins, could win most districts and barely lost to Dallas Carter and Lincoln in their respective district games.  Decatur came in third place in 9-4A and takes on Carter in the first-round of the playoffs.

Second year head coach Layne Boxell is proud of his team and glad for the seniors. "I'm happy for these seniors. The last time we made the playoffs was when they were freshmen."   In that season, Sanger played AAA Academy, who had three Division I players on their team, including Baylor Bears King McClure.  Sanger lost, but played a respectable game.
